Frequently asked questions
Honest answers about how solar garden lights work, what to expect, and what we will and won't claim.

Do these lights need any wiring or an electrician?
No — every product is solar or low-voltage.
Do these lights need any wiring or an electrician?
No — every product is solar or low-voltage.
None of our products connect to mains power. Each light has its own solar panel and rechargeable battery, so there is nothing to wire, no outlet to reach, and no electrician required.
We do not sell hardwired 110V/220V electrical fixtures of any kind.
How long will they stay lit each night?
It depends on sunlight — we don't promise a fixed runtime.
How long will they stay lit each night?
It depends on sunlight — we don't promise a fixed runtime.
Run time depends on how much sun the panel received that day, the season, the weather, the chosen brightness mode, and the age of the battery. A bright summer day yields a longer evening than a short, overcast winter one.
Because of this, we do not publish guaranteed runtime hours. Treat any general figures as best-case estimates under strong charging conditions, not a promise.
Will solar lights lower my electricity bill?
We make no energy-savings claims.
Will solar lights lower my electricity bill?
We make no energy-savings claims.
Our lights are decorative outdoor lighting that happens to run on the sun instead of an outlet. We do not claim any specific energy savings, utility-bill reduction, or dollar figure, and you should not buy them expecting one.
Are they waterproof?
They are weather-rated by IP class, not fully waterproof.
Are they waterproof?
They are weather-rated by IP class, not fully waterproof.
Each product lists an IP rating (for example IP44, IP54, IP65, or IP67) that describes its tested resistance to dust and water. Match the rating to where the light will live — sheltered, open ground, or near water.
An IP rating is not a guarantee against all conditions. No outdoor light is fully waterproof or storm-proof, and we don't describe them that way.
Can the batteries be replaced?
Yes, and we sell replacements.
Can the batteries be replaced?
Yes, and we sell replacements.
Most of our lights use a standard rechargeable cell that you can replace when it weakens after a season or two. Always match the size and chemistry printed inside the light, observe correct polarity, do not mix old and new cells, and recycle spent batteries responsibly.
See our Replacement Solar Batteries (8-Pack) for common AA Ni-MH cells.
